Ontario Golf News Magazine Reborn
Ottawa-based Bauder Media Group has reached an agreement with the Golf Association of Ontario to produce the GAO’s official golf magazine.
The new Ontario Golf News will be an in-depth digital publication that will provide the latest news and results from the fourteen districts of the Golf Association of Ontario and from all over Ontario.
At the same time it will include profiles on the people and golf courses that make up the Ontario golf community, as well as features on equipment, travel and much more.
In reviving the original name of the publication founded by Dave Colling in 1981, Bauder Media Group Publisher Jeff Bauder says they have set out the mission for this publication – to provide the news and stories of golfers across Canada’s most populated province.
“We have enjoyed a long affiliation with the Golf Association of Ontario and look forward to sharing the stories of golf in Ontario with their entire membership,” says Bauder. “Our Flagstick Golf Magazine was modelled after the original Ontario Golf News so we have an emotional connection with the brand. We are proud that the GAO has selected our company to work with them on this publication.”
He added, “Our real focus will be on content. We know that to be relevant we have to provide as much content as possible. We’ve done that at Flagstick and that is our plan with this new publication. There are plenty of amazing golf stories in Ontario, right down to the club level, and they deserve to be shared.”
Dave Mills, Executive Director of the Golf Association of Ontario, echoed Bauder’s comments.
“Our past relationship with Flagstick has been one that we have always valued and to now have the opportunity to work with them to reintroduce “Ontario Golf News” marks a new phase in that relationship,” he said. “Flagstick have established an outstanding reputation in the golf industry, whether it be through their publications, their web site or their many initiatives to support and grow the game.”
“I am confident that this partnership will not only help to get our message to Ontario’s golfers but will also serve to raise the profile and grow our sport throughout the province.”
Ontario Golf News will be provided on a digital platform directly to the members at the Golf Association of Ontario as well as other interested readers. It will also be offered in various reading formats for both online and mobile users.
The first issue of Ontario Golf News will be available in spring 2013.
