Following is an email that went out to Championship players today with an update on our 2020 scheduling. At this point, we have postponed all qualifiers and championship events through to the end of June. We are still working hard to understand the parameters we are dealing with, and are working hard on finalizing the remainder of our 2020 Championship plan. Stay tuned.
Dear Championship Players:
We hope this email finds you well, and that you have been enjoying a safe return to playing golf now that the courses are open.
We know that you are all very anxious to see what the Golf Ontario Championship plan looks like for the 2020 season, and we have promised to continue to communicate frequently with you as we finalize our plans.
With this in mind, we wanted to let you know that we are continuing to search for clarity from the government around what rules and guidance are in place regarding competitions. While we would love to have clarity at this point, we do not have that, and as such are not yet able to confirm our 2020 championship plans. Having said that, we continue to seek advice to ensure we are clearly able to deliver safe championships within the government rules and guidance, and this will inform our final direction.
Given this, we have postponed all qualifiers and championship events through to the end of June.
Trust that we are working hard on finalizing the remainder of our 2020 Championship plan, while at the same time seeking to understand the clear rules and guidance under which we will need to operate. In the meantime, your continued patience is very much appreciated.
As we learn more, we will share details as soon as we know, and we hope to be returning to conducting a new Championship schedule soon.
Yours in golf,
