Ada MacKenzie Matches

This is an annual two day senior women's match play team event for Ontario vs. Upper New York State. The tournament is usually held in May each year and the teams alternate in hosting the event. Each team consists of their top ten senior women golfers. Team Ontario is comprised of the top ten eligible finishers from the prior year's Sr. Women’s Order of Merit. The format for this competition consists of two rounds. First day is an afternoon competition, Chapman format, and the second day is a morning Better Ball. These matches have been conducted since 1960.

The 2019 Ada Mackenzie Matches will be hosted by Upper New York State at Bellevue Country Club in Syracuse, NY on May 23-24.  2019 will mark the 59th playing of the event, named after Canadian amateur golf legend Ada Mackenzie. A Canadian and Ontario Golf Hall of Fame member, Mackenzie won every major golf championship across Canada including four Canadian Open Championships and six Canadian Closed (Canadian citizens only) Championships as well as a multitude of provincial titles. She was also the driving force in establishing the Ladies Golf Club of Toronto in 1924 as the only private golf club for women in North America.
